Thiago Almada scored a stunning free kick as he finished the match with two goals and two assists for Atlanta United and an MLS record.

Almada is a World Cup winner with the Argentina national team and at only 21, has an MLS record to his name. The Argentine is the first player in MLS history with at least four goals and four assists in his club’s first four games of the season.

With Atlanta United leading 1-0 through a Thiago Almada assist, they were awarded a free kick and it was Almada who took it. A world class strike by the World Cup winner as he would score to give Atlanta United the 2-0 lead.

He would have a second assist on Atlanta United’s fourth goal of the match in the second half. At 4-1, he would receive the ball inside the penalty area, spin and his effort would find the back of the goal.

  1. The kid’s a talent that’s for sure but before we declaire him as the second coming he needs to do the 2 following things: First, play like that consistently and dominate the league and then move to europe and show his stuff. Luckily at 21yrs he’s got time to do both, fingers crossed!

  2. The lack of success of our national team which stretched over 2 decades , forced big teams in Europe to stop showing intrest in our players while overrating and over paying for local European players and Brazilians. This world cup victory will change that!!
