Mauricio Pochettino announced as new Chelsea coach

Mauricio Pochettino has been announced as the new coach of Chelsea.

Pochettino is back coaching in the Premier League. Chelsea announced on Monday that Pochettino has signed a contract with the club and his new role will begin on 1 July.

He has signed a two year contract. Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley had this to say:

“Mauricio’s experience, standards of excellence, leadership qualities and character will serve Chelsea Football Club well as we move forward. He is a winning coach, who has worked at the highest levels, in multiple leagues and languages. His ethos, tactical approach and commitment to development all made him the exceptional candidate.”

The 51 year old started his managerial career at Espanyol in La Liga before coaching Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. He last coached Paris Saint-Germain in 2021-2022 for one season.

  1. Media talks about mistakes Mauro made in PSG – What mistakes did he make? – it is very hard to judge in a short period of time – Chelsea is no different from any other club – unless he gets the players he needs..he cannot survive in Chelsea as well..

Definitely a stronger defense and forwards is required in Chelsea.

  2. Welcome back to the epl Mr pochettino, he will make Chelsea a title challenges with beautiful attacking football. Hope he signs more Argentina players.
