Ángel Di María scores in Portuguese Super Cup for Benfica in win vs. FC Porto

Ángel Di María scored in the Portuguese Super Cup for Benfica in their 2-0 win vs. FC Porto.

Di María is a man for all finals. After scoring in three consecutive finals for Argentina, including that of the World Cup final, he has scored once more in a big match. The 35 year old scored the first goal in the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira against Porto in the win.

The Argentine received the ball on the edge of the penalty area and curls one into the bottom of the corner to give Benfica the 1-0 lead. At 2-0 and late in injury time, he was substituted off to a standing ovation from the Benfica fans.

Nicolás Otamendi lifted the trophy for Benfica as club captain, helping them to a clean sheet.

  1. Fideo is an absolute legend and in my books a contender for any hypothetical Argentina all time 11 or at least all time 23 off the bench.

    • Most underrated player of our time. I used to always say that he is one of the best in the world in his early days and people used to say I am biased 😂😂😂. He has so much skill and elegance. I used to go to a Argentine bar to watch games back in 2015-18 and everyone including our fans would call him a ball hog
