Julián Álvarez won the UEFA Super Cup with Manchester City.

Álvarez has now made it four trophies with Manchester City as they won the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla, getting the win in a penalty shootout. The 23 year old did not start the match for the reigning Champions League winners but he was brought on as a substitute and did score an unstoppable penalty kick.

For Sevilla, Marcos Acuña, Lucas Ocampos and Erik Lamela all started the match with Gonzalo Montiel and Papu Gómez on the bench. Acuña, who has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, got the assist on Sevilla’s goal, as he crossed it into the penalty area with Youssef En-Nesyri scoring.

Lucas Ocampos took Sevilla’s first penalty kick and scored, as did the man who scored the penalty kick which won Argentina the World Cup, Gonzalo Montiel. The match ended 1-1, with City winning 5-4 in the shootout.
