Varela had a goal and an assist for FC Porto in their win with a stellar performance. With FC Porto leading 1-0, Varela sent a cross into the penalty area and it was headed in by Evanilson for their second goal of the match.

He had another assist on FC Porto’s third goal scored by Galeno. FC Porto’s last goal of the match was scored by Varela.

The Argentine received the ball on the edge of the penalty area and his initial left footed shot was saved by the goalkeeper but the 22 year old got his own rebound and scored.

  1. We have a really good DM in the making, still only 22, ready to take at the very least Guido’s place in the team. He seems well rounded too, both defensively and offensively.

    • Well rounded, 3/5 in everything no weakness but not really strong point.

      Defensively Guido>Varela>Paredes, passing and controlling (regista) Paredes>Varela>Guido, attacking (assists, goals, shooting, final passes) Paredes>Varela>Guido…Enzo, Mac and Palacios are not natural DMs but more versatile ones in a modern team. At this point Palacios would be my DM, Enzo/Mac Palacios De Paul midfield, in 4-4-2 all 4.
