  1. I doubt if this team will go anywhere with mascherano. Infact my worst fear is Mascherano might be appointed as the manager of the National Team in the near future. We talk about failures of Sampaoli but Mascherano might be even worse.

  2. So far we are not playing well, no patterns of play, no ideas against this defensive, physical and counter attacking Paraguay. The pitch is bad too. Zero goals on target is a concern, XG for this game is not great so far. If with Carboni, Romero, Soule and Nico Paz we did not do well under Masche, I am not sure what we can expect with this team.

    • Eche was heavily man marked because Sforza is not really a ball progressor. He is not what you would want in a transition outlet. But maybe Mascherano sees a reflection of himself in Sforza in terms of not progressing the ball, and just holding it. Especially when you have Fede warming the bench!!! As for Medina, I think he is more effective centrally while Almada can play both centrally and wide on the wings. And then warming the bench was a player like Eche, who should have been brought in a lot earlier than 71st minute. The fluidity in the attack is there for everyone to see, when Barco, Fede, Eche and Almada were together on the pitch. But hey, its Masche running the show.
