Gerardo “Tata” Martino commented on Lionel Messi’s early substitution in Inter Miami’s 3-1 win vs. Nashville SC.
With Miami winning 2-0, Messi was substituted in the 49th minute of the game and generated concern among Argentine fans. Here is what coach Martino had to say in the post-match press conference:
“Leo left the game early in the second half due to a slight muscle discomfort. It was bothering him a bit and we took him out as a precaution.”
Martino later added that Messi will most likely not play Saturday’s game against DC United.
