The Argentina Olympic team won a friendly match 5-0 vs. Petrus Flo, a team that is made up of French players that are without a club.
Javier Mascherano’s team are in their final preparations for the Olympic games which begins on July 24 in France. Luciano Gondou scored two goals in the first half with the rest of the goals scored by Lucas Beltrán, Kevin Zenón and Claudio Echeverri. Here was the starting eleven:

Argentina have been drawn in Group B with Morocco, Iraq and Ukraine. They will play the first match on July 24 vs. Morocco, their second on July 27 against Iraq and on July 30 against Ukraine.

Foolish act by Enzo. The chant was clearly a jab at the French players. It’s fine to have a beef between NTs, just like how we don’t like Brazil, but publicly showing it will attract criticism and fine from the likes of FIFA, because that will be consider unsportmanship.
That being said, the people trying to play the racist card had to do some pretty incredible mental gymnastic.

Funny enough, the most problematic part in my opinion: like to sleep with trans people (which is mocking Mbappe cause his rumored girlfriend, but it still sound a bit disrespectful and transphobic) isn’t being talked about. Instead, people only claimed is that Enzo was “racist”
Now, I understand that some people are very attached to the place where they were raised, to a point where they consider this is their one and only nationality. These people will not like it when, for example: a Chinese-American being called Chinese. But you have to see that there are also a lot of people who respect and love the roots of their family, and these people will have no problem being called by the nation that their parents or grandparents being born in. There is also the differences in appearances, which will always be the first thing sb notice when seeing. And thus, you CAN NOT hold the line of racism at calling someone by their heritages. That would be like saying calling Ozil, Can, Gundogan Turskish as “racist”. Enzo IS NOT racist, period. And one google search and you can find many respectful gestures between Enzo and black people.
This is SO MUCH LESS “racist” than the Dembele video towards Asian (https://x.com/trtworld/status/1412419373734797320?lang=en) but hey, we don’t see anyone suing the French Federation, so they’re good right?
Wasn’t there a video of Mbappe as a kid calling France a team of Arabs? What about the “Gaucho gate” in 2014 ..What about news media outlets calling the win of 2018 as an African win? How on earth does someone define racism I wonder.
Enzo is going to face sanction and he deserves that. Champions should behave like champions too. Why such an obnoxious song? Can’t victory be celebrated with real songs? He has let his gentlemen teammates and coach down. Why only he? All those who participated in that song should be reprimanded.
Our songs have always been like this. We can sing whatever we want, but then recording it live on Instagram was an idiotic choice.
Our players never truly learn from their idol and captain. If they want to have a successful career, they need to be good men on and off the field. Messi remains very humble despite winning everything, while our young players still show childish and unprofessional behaviors.
Enzo’s career is finished..that is a deed of utter foolishness, still trying to understand what’s the necessity for that type of song?
He has apologised nothing big deal now, i”m african man myself and i don’t see any offensive but he should be careful from now as media can make big deal especially the French
it’s one thing making light fun of it like we do in private. it’s another thing recording a video and posting it to hundreds of millions of common public, despite the fact he will have to play at chelsea with at least 5-6 players like this.

Not childish but arrogant that Chelsea move turned out to be a blunder for him before that he was impeccable in benfica and in wc 2022.. you have to choose your transfer moves wisely there’s the difference between him and macllister.. the versatile version of macllister that we are seeing today is purely made by klopp (but talent wise enzo is better than macllister)..
I agree that Chelsea move was arrogant. I heard he skipped training sessions at benfica to force a move to Chelsea. That was huge disrespect to a club you have barely finished 6 months.
Fully agreed. His Chelsea move is very regrettable. I also think it’s a very rude act to leave a club in six months like that, it’s almost comical. Unheard of. Could’ve waited at least a year and thought more about it.

Hey man, we are on the same side. I remember back in 1998, the french NT was accused to be a team of french legion, Zidane, Thuram, Djorkaeff to mention a few, were not regarded as ”real” french. Zidane has since then been whitewashed by Real but that’s a different story. The situation for France has worsen over the years, to say the least. However, the human trafficking is not only a french phenomena. It’s mere a desperate act as the french youth do not want to play football anymore, similar to the situation in Italy. How is it better that Italy is taking advantage of the dire economic situation in Argentina to lure the youths to EU? Anyways, I stick with my boy Enzo. He might not be the brightest kid but he is a hellava great football player, and he is Argentine.

That was foolish of him to stream it live. I am from Africa but I wasn’t offended. When others make joke that African won the world cup no one is offended but when Argentina fans joke about it, it is racist. I don’t get it. I remember Trevor Noah joked about it. Infact the french players were recorded singing African songs because they recognize their roots.
Unfortunately this was from the professional players and they should have done it privately. The big problem is the British media who will make the situation look very bad for Enzo Fernandez.

I’m African too. I don’t feel offended by Enzo’s singing about the truth. FFF are very sensitive about that topic, yet they mistreat Afro French people in their own country. Had he mentioned something derogatory towards Africans, I would definitely have taken offense.
