Leandro Paredes set to join Boca Juniors in 2025

According to reports from journalist Gastón Edul, Leandro Paredes is keen on returning to Boca Juniors to secure more playing time.

Although the Argentine midfielder is under contract with AS Roma until June 2025, he may be available for a reduced fee in January, which would fit within Boca’s budget.

However, if Roma’s management decides to replace their coach and Paredes finds himself with increased playing opportunities, this could influence his decision to stay in Italy. If all goes as expected, he could be a valuable addition for the “Xeneizes” as they prepare for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The 30-year-old World Cup champion began his career at Boca from 2010 to 2014, where he played alongside his idol, and now club president, Juan Román Riquelme. Paredes is a devoted Boca fan and has always expressed his desire to return to the club while still at the peak of his career.

  1. At the age of only 30 it seems a bit early for him to return to Argentina. But he won everything in the national team shirt, had a decent career in Europe, lived in different countries. Gago will likely guarantee a starting spot for him at Boca. Paredes is also a hardcore Boca fan so he would want that move even though he could still have at least 2-3 years of playing in Europe.

  2. Neymar’s message to Vinicious Junior and other Brazilian players in Madrid regarding Mbappe’s toxicity and selfish play seems to have been taken very seriously! Kylian Mbappe is on the receiving end of what he did to Messi at PSG. He deliberately isolated Messi on the pitch with the help of his close friends like Hakimi and ensured Messi failed at PSG in his first season. Injury also played a big role in that underwhelming season for Leo. But unlike Mbappe who has displayed how technically limited he is and can only deliver if the team is built around him at the left wing/ forward position, Messi in his second season prioritized his creator role over goal scoring and had a very good second season at PSG.

However, I think Perez will cash out on V.Junior to accommodate Mbappe eventually but right now it looks like pace alone isn’t going to cut it for Kylian Mbappe in Laliga.

  3. That means he’s nearing to his final years of career. I liked his first Roma years…but never reached the expected hight..
Luckily we have now, many midfielders to fill the void in NT.

  4. Ezequiel Fernandez Moores vote for the Ballon d’Or
    1. Kroos
    2. Rodri
    3. Vinicius
    4. Foden 🤣😂
    5. Bellingham
    6. Lautaro Martinez

Placing Foden above Lautaro was complete insult. maybe he didn’t like the player. I don’t get the logic behind his vote ranking.

  5. Paredes has always played well for the Albiceleste, FOR THE MOST part and not so much for his clubs, a problem where is was always the other way around for ARG.
All I can say is this, get the most out of the veterans because the end is near for most of them and I personally will never forget their contribution in the last 2 COPAs and the WC and nobody can ever take that away from them.

  6. Roma is filled with mediocre and average players in almost every position which is why sturggles in that team similar to United. Even one bad/ below average player can drag a team down , imaging having average players on starting xi and bench. Mourinho got the best of the average squad and once he was fired things have gotten even worse for Rome!
