AFA signs agreement for new home of Argentina National Team

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) signed an agreement with the Province of Buenos Aires to make the Estadio Único Diego Armando Maradona in La Plata the new home of the Argentina national team starting in 2025.

The stadium has 53,000 seats, which is 30,000 fewer than El Monumental, the current home of the team.

The venue will host all categories of the national team, the Copa Argentina, and potentially serve as a venue for the final of the Copa Sudamericana or Libertadores.

The stadium hosted the U-20 World Cup in 2023.
