Boca Juniors has sent a contractual offer to Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes, who currently plays for AS Roma. If Paredes agrees to the terms, Boca will then proceed to negotiate with Roma to finalize the transfer during this transfer window.
According to journalist Gastón Edul, Boca coach Fernando Gago has been in talks with Paredes for some time. However, Paredes cannot make a decision in January as his situation depends on Roma. Boca has yet to initiate negotiations with the Italian club, and any potential move would need their approval.
Another key factor is that if Paredes plays 50% of Roma’s matches this season, his contract will be automatically extended by one year. Currently, he has participated in approximately 20% of the games but still has the second half of the season under coach Claudio Ranieri. This condition makes Roma’s position crucial, and any transfer would require Boca to engage with the club directly.
