Ángel Di María scored twice for Benfica in their 3-0 win vs. Braga.

Di María reached 13 goals for the season with Benfica in their win in the Taçada Liga. With the score at 0-0, Di María received the ball inside the penalty area and his effort near post beat the goalkeeper to give Benfica the 1-0 lead.

Benfica would score a minute later and Di María would score after that. At 2-0, it was a cross inside the penalty area which found Di María and the Argentine would score his second goal of the match.

  1. If I say that Angel Di Maria, at 36 years, has more goals and assists this season than the rest of the national team’s wingers COMBINED, I will ONLY be exaggerating a little bit.

    • Pressuring Dimaria back to the NT will signal a wrong message which will look selfish to me.
Why should the players pressure him. They should leave that to Scaloni. Infact I prefer a scenario where no player is guaranteed his spot to emergence of more competent players.

He will be 38 by then in 2026. Should Messi & Dimaria choose to play next world cup, am afraid likes of Pezella & Otamedi might decide against retirement to the detriment of younger and better players.
