Lionel Messi and Tomás Avilés both scored for Inter Miami in their penalty shootout friendly match win against Club America.
Messi scored his first goal of 2025 in Inter Miami’s first friendly match of the new year. With Club America leading 1-0, it was a cross in the penalty area which fell to Messi and he would head the ball and score to draw Inter Miami level.
Tomás Avilés would be the late hero for Inter Miami. Club America would once more take the lead and Inter Miami would be awarded a corner kick in injury time.
The ball would fall to Avilés and he would head the ball and score Inter Miami’s second goal of the match. The match would go to penalty kicks where Federico Redondo and Marcelo Weigandt would miss but Inter Miami would get the 3-2 win.

Messi telling the Mexican fans, ARGENTINA WON 3 WORLD CUPS while Mexico 🤌🤌🤌, that was 🥶🥶homie LMAO
Under the new system at United and with limited playing time Garnacho is getting exposed badly! He can’t dribble to save his life and beat defenders, and when he gets any chance his poor finishing gets in the way. Napoli bid 40 million for him and if he is smart he should push for a move. Manchester United doesn’t have time to wait for him to develop into a world class player. A move to Napoli means they will be forced to adjust their playing style to justify the high money transfer.
