Another good day in office for Placente. The first 60mins or so was very uneventful & we just had possession without purpose. Colombian physicality clearly out muscled us. Placente putting in Mastantuono in place of Carrizo bought back momentum. There were 2 really good combo moves between Echiverri & Mastantuono. Placente subbing Echiverri with Subiabre was a tricky move. But that hit the jackpot with Subiabre weaving his way to goal on a Mastantuono corner. Well-deserved 3 points on a day where we peaked late. One of our hidden strengths is the midfield of Delgado & Acuna who are quietly doing their job. Cannot wait for the Brazil- Argentina rematch & that should be a cracker.
Yeah Placente is doing a fine job with the pibes. Today he went for a 3-4-3 highline and when things stagnated against a physical Colombia he introduced the River boys to good effect. For the first time in a long time I’m actually hopeful about the u20 world cup.

Garnacho seems to have improved his decision making & crossing in the final third after being dropped from the starting xi at United. However he still has a lot to improve his finishing along with successfully taking on defenders. Without significantly improving these skills he will be behind G.Simeone in pecking order. Cholo is developing Giuliano into a work horse. His finishing , crossing & decision making is better than Garnacho but when it comes to positioning Garnacho has better presence of mind. Right now, G.Simeone & N.Paz are ahead of Garnacho in the national team.
Garnacho as of now is only a sub material. His pace is helpful for Argentina against tired defense. Other than that nico paz should start. Nico paz can play anywhere in the forward positions and attacking and in central mid. He can track back and has that physicality. He suits the style of our team.
The thing is we need a genius other than Messi to go more in the next wc. Dybala is not a solution. A young maestro who can support messi and the strikers. Rest would compliment easily. I hope paz can develop into a world class one.
Yup totally agree Vishnu, Nico Paz should be tried as a starter ahead of either Enzo or DePaul and give them both some serious competition. Simeone and Garnacho could come in as subs and inject some workrate.
I also think that Almada should be tried as a LW/LFW because he brings in a lot creativity and hustle to the left side.
