Paulo Dybala scored twice for AS Roma in their 3-2 home victory against Porto in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League playoffs. The Italian team had drawn 1-1 in Portugal, and with an aggregate score of 4-3, they advanced to the Round of 16.
With Porto leading 1-0 in the 35th minute, Dybala pulled off a brilliant play, exchanging a one-two pass with Eldor Shomurodov, breaking into the box, and finishing with the outside of his left foot into the back of the net to equalize the match at 1-1.
Just four minutes later, “La Joya” took possession near the right side of the box, faked a move, cut to his left, and fired a powerful shot at the near post that the goalkeeper couldn’t stop, putting Roma ahead 2-1.
Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes started for AS Roma, while Nehuén Pérez and Alan Varela were in Porto’s starting lineup. Matías Soulé came on as a second-half substitute for the Italian side.
