  1. I tried to listen to Spain fans like Dadir10 on this post but he simply lost me when he said “Scaloni’s choices and decisions were recipes for disasters!” GTFOH with that bullshyt! Scaloni has one of the greatest records of any coach EVER! Show him some respect with your amateur opinions on who he should call to the Seleccion.
…and Spain can come get some all you want. Williams and the other kids can ran at our defense all the want… we are well coached, disciplined, and quite frankly just know how to win tough grind them out games. Argentina is the best TEAM in the world and I think Spain has to worry about how to try to control our midfield of DePaul, MacAllister, Fernandez, Parcedes, LoCelso, Palacios and Almada! With Lautaro and Alvarez up top who run all game trapping. Plus a guy named Messi and the best goalie between the posts … Cuti and Otamendi as a pair togther are tough to beat just check the numbers on that.
    In Scaloni we trust
    Vamos Carajos!!!

    • Don’t be stupid man! No one is supporting Spain here. We all are here for Argentina. This is not a Spain forum. The decisions of Scaloni I am talking about are his current decisions, not the past ones. Try to use your brain well or stop judging me on what you don’t know.

  2. I hope that he actually gets playing time at Real. I hope it’s not a “stunt” by Real, to counter Lamal at Barca. Time will tell, but spending time on the bench will not help.

  3. These are HORRIBLE decisions that will destroy our future youth. Echeverri, Mastantuono, Veliz, Anselmino, Barco. They go to clubs with no chance of playing and they just fade into the wind like dust. When will they learn that taking a payday from a big club means death to their future. 50mil is nothing to a big club and the guy just rots on the pine. Are they so fucking stupid they can’t follow the Alvarez, Enzo, MacAllister model. So sad.

    • To be fair Barco is kinda following the Mac model (bought by Brighton then went on loan) but I get your point.
Diablito seems to be on Pep’s radar so I wouldn’t rule him out just yet, maybe he’ll end up like Maximo Perrone (had 2 good loan spells in Italy and Spain and seems to be developing quite well). As for the others, yeah they seem to be lost in the shuffle, this (sadly) includes Thomas Palacios who couldn’t get a look in at Inter. Luckily with the likes of Almada, Soule, Paz, Simeone, Barranechea, Perrone, Varela and to a lesser extent Castro, Dominguez and Garnacho Argentina doesn’t seem to be hurting for future talent. Buenonotte and Alcaraz have also shown flashes of ability and form in England so they shouldn’t be ruled out either.

    • Veliz cmon a Gaich 2.0. Alvarez, Enzo, Macca modell was the same just they were good enough to play. Julian in City a lot of playing minutes, Enzo instant starter in Chelsea after a half year Benfica spell, Macca in Brighton where Buonanotte or Barco was unable to do the same.

      • Actually Mac was loaned out to Boca for a season and when he came back to Brighton he warmed the bench for a little while before things started working out for him.
Barco was instantly loaned out and eventually found a club that gave him a chance in France and has done quite well.
Buonanotte was doing really well until Nistelrooij took over and showed to be one of the worst coaches in EPL history.

  4. A big mistake IMO, Real isn’t exactly known for giving the youngsters a chance but alas….I imagine it would be very hard to say no to Real Madrid. I do hope he gets loaned back to River and stays for a year or 2 and develop his game and then maybe Real can sell him to a good club somewhere in europe, that’s the best case scenario that I can think of.

      • Not a half bad idea, as long as Ces is still there though. Other destinations could include Valencia, Villareal or Betis. The former is club that has no money so they’re inclined to give young players a chance and Barranechea did quite well there. The latter 2 have good coaches, although Betis’s style suits Franco more.

  5. I am hearing that Ota will start vs Colombia, so I’m asking myself: what is the point of this? When the WC is just one year away and you already qualified for it and there are very good, young centrebacks in the squad, what is the need for oldie Ota to be ahead of them? If Ota and Romero both start vs Colombia and Foyth, Balerdi, and Lo Monaco are left in the bench it’s obvious that something is wrong. But I don’t know what it exactly is.

    • It’s so fucking frustrating old otamendi still keep playing even when we are already qualified for world Cup otamendi will be 38 next summer and so unreal he still pretty much our first choice cb
Is not because he is that good but scaloni and co are in love with him for no reason I swear leo balerdi is better than him even before we were become world champion he almost single handly cost us world cup, it’s so unfair not given chance likes balerdi and medina because old otamendi
I thought balerdi played very well against chile

      • When you deeply think of some of Scaloni’s choices and decisions you you realize that it’s a recipe for disaster. The way this team is managed is far from perfection and if things continue the way they are right now we will only reach the quarterfinals at the WC and will be kicked out of the tournament with a strong punch in the face.

Let’s be honest with ourselves for a minute. Is there any chance for the likes of Molina, Montiel, and Otamendi to stop Yamal and Williams when they come flying at them? No chance at all.

        • Yes and Barco (defensively horrible), Giay a 0 kilometer rookie and Balerdi can LOL keep dreaming! Otamendi will play ofc vs Columbia (the most physical team in South America) he is maybe the world best CB in the air. Otamendi was inch perfect against Uruguay and Brazil unlike Cuti Romero.

          • “…. he is maybe the world best CB in the air. Otamendi was inch perfect against Uruguay and Brazil ” lol

Ota is constantly beaten in the air nowadays and if you do your observations well you will clearly understand that some of his strengths have changed into his weaknesses lately. Put thiis discussion of aerial duels aside, tell me what is the point of selecting Ota vs Colombia as a starter? The guy is very old, has played 30 – 40 games this season, can’t stop young, speedy players anymore, and loses his head all the time which makes him a time ticking bomb.

          • What are you talking about? Otamendi won the most aerial duels from CBs in last Champions League season with much less matches than other defenders. So clearly one of the best in the air, not even a question. Nonsense waffling without facts! Balerdi is sadly average, he is rather mediocre with the ball too, do you want stats? (progressive passes, progressive carries, long balls etc.) We have 4 elite ball progressor, playmaker CB rn: Cuti, Licha (always injured) Otamendi and Facundo Medina (never played on the highest level or in the middle of a 4 men backline). Senesi and Quarta are good with the ball too btw but not good defenders enough. 40 years old Pepe was still Portugal best defender so age isnt a factor.

          • And as we see neither Scaloni, neither Ayala, neither Samuel see Facundo Medina or Foyth a CB option, So do you want to say Ayala and Samuel dont understand defending? LOL btw Otamendi won hard matches for us in WCQ with clutch goals: Paraguay home, Brazil away and 1:1 in Venezuela. 7 points just because of his attacking output. Cuti is the number one but after not reliable Lisandro (his body is not built on top football sadly) Otamendi is clearly our best defender, clutch goalscorer, leader, good passer and beast in the air. And dont really interested in occasional mistakes, Cuti Romero had a lot too still a beast, every CB makes a lot of mistakes cost goals.

          • And i hope Lomonaco will be Otamendi’s heir after the WC (seems a complete package) but first have to see what he can do in Europe against much better attackers.

          • Boy, you didn’t answer my question in the first place and then you have changed the whole point of my discussion. You are talking about one aspect of Ota’s attributes and I am talking about an entire defender (the whole package). There were many times the guy was beaten in the air in the WQs and in some Copa America games. Yes, many of those opponent’s chances didn’t end in our goal, but he was beaten all the time. You took Pepe as an example looking for an excuse lol. Ota and Pepe have totally different body structures and that difference has given Pepe longer time in his career. What makes me laugh is that you talk like football is played in the air like Volleyball lol. What I am talking about is football which 90% is played on the ground that won’t give any chance for an oldie like Ota against young, speedy players.

          • Btw check Romero and Otamendi WCQ 26 stats on fotmob (per 90 minutes) Ota is slightly better than even Goat Romero in duels won, in duels won%, in aerial duels won and in aerial duels won% too. One factor really? REALLY? Yes your speed argument is only one factor, i see rather the whole package, not vica versa.

        • Against tall and physical Columbia the arieal presence is very important, maybe the most. Complete package?

          Otamendi vs Balerdi

chemistry with the team Otamendi, routine Otamendi, goalscoring Otamendi, leadership Otamendi, passing/ball progression Otamendi (in yearly basis (fbref)) in the air Otamendi , speed Balerdi. Not even close.

          • James Rodriguez gave 5 or 6 assists from set pieces in last Copa says a lot. And Columbia is not faster than Brazil where Otamendi shut them down home and away with a winner goal, the difference is physicality in favour of Columbia.

  6. Lets stop hating Cristiano Ronaldo. In a recent interview he has said “I have a lot of affection for Messi………..I really like him very much cuz he has always treated me nicely, has always respected me……”. Its not nice we fanbase have hatred towards him when Messi himself has maintained a good friendship with him.

The way he said those smilingly, it was really hard for me to hate him. Come on now.

  7. We really need good LB and RB now, when we won the WC, both montiel and Molina and taglafico, was good options in 2022, but now in 2026 we really need good player, i hope scaloni to find something good…

  8. I see some CRYnaldo talk is going on around here and since I pride myself on being the #1 hater of her highness then I must comment.
I knew Morata was going to mock it up as soon as he came into the game and he didn’t disappoint.
What the hell was Yamal doing all game long besides passing the ball back the sec he got it and there were few times where he was wide open to run and pulled back. The last time Isco played for Spain was in 2018 or at least that’s what the announcer said and yet he played today! Their squad included players that I have never heard of….. I can go on criticizing Spain for playing like fish in a barrel just to vent my annoyance for the fact that we won’t hear the end of it until probably next summer, how the Ultimate prima donna managed to bag another title for his country. Another useless title based on friendly games played during WC qualifiers and some genius had the bright idea of turning them into a championship to make more money.

    • Cristiano is crying over the smallest things lately. It looks hella fake, like he is pulling out crocodile tears just to milk some sympathy.

      • I honestly BELIEVE he faked his injury to avoid playing into extra time and possibly PKs because their coach doesn’t have the balls to sub her out and if they end up losing he’ll say I scored, what more you want from me lol

    • Exactly yamal was not trying anything infact all attack gone through lw, also spain had 3-4 counter attacking chances right after first half but they do stop it when they reach near box as nobody want to score goals
And calling of pedri who had the midfield controll was a shit move its like spain lost the match not portugal won it, spains lazy mind set in early second half costed

  9. if christina does win a WC next year will he still be regarded the same as Messi? I feel like at 41 he wont make contributions anywhere near as Messi did in 2022. just asking. the possibility makes me anxious.

    • His best chance was in 2022, their team was full of young quality player. However unlike nations league, World Cup victory requires a team to play 7 games in 1 month and the world cup is still 1 year away! Portugal actually has better chances of winning without Cr7 who will be 41. Currently he plays as a pure no9 and with significant loss of pace they will trap him offside. Messi on the otherhand will play as a false 9 and will focus on his playmaking and sublime positioning to create and score goals.

  10. If he doesn’t get regular playing time at this age , he will not develop! However Real should know that and they will find a club to loan him out so that he plays European futbal regularly!

Also, Nuno Mendez has improved so much. I remember him playing with Messi at PSG and both kind of built some chemistry but now he looks a solid LB. Our current batch of FBs and Wingers aren’t able to do what Mendez did to Yamal and Spain today. He completely took Yamal out of the match and created the chance Ronaldo scored to level the game, wreaking havoc on Spain! Diego Simeone and Atletico has destroyed Molina’s confidence! Scaloni can’t win the next world cup with our current batch of wingers and full backs. He has 1 year to find suitable replacements!

Junior Simeone’s dribbling and finishing is still developing and it was quite apparent against poor Chile side. Garnacho is not even national team level yet! Our midfield is our main strength and which is why we completely dominated possession and controlled every knockout match in the world cup, barring the end of match panics in all of those games. However, we will need more attacking fullbacks and wingers otherwise we will not create anything from our flanks.

  11. This lamine boy talks too much. He did nothing today. I hope Argentina teach them a lesson. If scaloni watched this game, I hope he realized importance of fullback. Portugal still played likes of declining players like semedo and Ruben neves from Saudi league. Perhaps scaloni should stick with likes of montiel. This experimenting with young inexperienced young players like manstatuono will hinder team progress.

    • Nations League is nothing. It’s like the Confrence League of the nations. World Cup, Copa America, and the Euros is what all matters.

    • These cr7 fans have become too mouthy because of nations league. Yamal was too talkative before that encounter. Perhaps scaloni should instill discipline and tell players to keep quiet and do talking on the pitch, and that’s what I like about Messi

  12. Franco Mastantuono will have massive chance to go world Cup if he perform well next season at Madrid which means competition increases for some players
