Álvaro Montoro and Alexander Barboza score for Botafogo in 2-0 win vs. Bragantino

Álvaro Montoro and Alexander Barboza both scored for Botafogo in their 2-0 win against Bragantino.

The two Argentine players scored both goals for Botafogo in their Copa do Brasil win. With the score at 0-0, it was a low pass into the penalty area which found Montoro and the Argentine would score to give Botafogo the 1-0 lead.

At 1-0, it was a cross into the penalty area which found Barboza and the 30 year old would head the ball and score Botafogo’s second goal of the match.

Montoro joined Botafogo earlier this year from Vélez Sarsfield.

  1. Scaloni and Co should consider calling
Agustín Giay, age 21 good right back, good height 1:80 plus Brazilian serie A as good as French league if not better definitely better than likes Belgium league, Portugal league and Dutch league so I don’t see why scaloni is not consider those Argentina players playing Brazilian serie A especially full backs so i’m rooting Agustín Giay to be called up next meaningless world Cup qualifier in September

    • Brazilian league is very strong league.
Scaloni should consider to select player from this league.
However, until now he continuously ignoring this league. I don’t the reason.

    • I agree. With Montiel seemingly reaching his ceiling and Molina losing his starting spot at Atlético, Giay could be a great addition.
