Joaquín Panichelli scored for Strasbourg in their 1-0 win against Le Havre.
Panichelli made it three goals in four league matches this season with Strasbourg. With the score at 0-0, Strasbourg were awarded a penalty.
Up stepped the Argentine who kicked down the middle and scored to give Strasbourg the 1-0 lead. Valentín Barco also started the match for Strasbourg.
Valentin Barco is now being asked to play as an attacking midfielder for the same club and it kinda looks like it’s his best position. He aint a left-back I guess.
So we have no options besides Tagliafico (now seems a sub behind Abner in Lyon) and Acuna.
Apparently Medina was signed to play LB at Marseille. We know that he did not impress in that role before but maybe if he plays there all season he improves. Soler is a bench warmer for now, Ortega is kinda meh, Bernabei not on the radar, Esquivel not NT material most likely. Who else do we have?
Oh no, Argentina has options, there is Alex Barnebei, voted best LB in Brazil last season and is currently the best attacking left back in Brazil! The problem is that Scaloni continues to ignore him.
Another option is Medina, he played for Marseille this weekend as a LB and did well but as Enganche said, he did not impress when played that position with Argentina but who knows he might develop into a decent LB throughout the season and just before the world cup.
Barco is playing as an AM and he also played as a DM and CM but he is versatile enough to play LB when need be. He’s turning into a swiss army knife and should be watched throughout the season.
Lastly there is Licha, don’t know whether he can regain his original form after all these injuries but LIcha is more than capable of playing LB because he did at Ajax in the CL, although IF he regains his form he’ll be Argentina’s starting CB not LB.
