Nico Paz scored for Como in their 1-1 draw against Genoa.
Paz made it two goals and one assist in three league matches with Como and was named as the Player of the Match. With the score at 0-0, the Argentine received the ball, spun around his marker and his effort from outside of the penalty area beat the goalkeeper as he scored to give Como the 1-0 lead.
Máximo Perrone was substituted into the match in the second half.
The problem is Paz plays in a similar role to Messi! Same with Almada and Mastantuono. However Messi will be 39 in the next world cup and I don’t think he can play full 90 mins in all 7 matches.
But it is a fact that, we have a golden generation of young players with very high ceiling. Paz, Alamada, Soùle and Mastantuono are among the best! Garnacho and Simeone still have a lot to prove but they will get there. Also, lets give some more time to the 18 year old Mastantuono, if Mbappe struggled in the first quarter of the season in laliga then lets cut some slack and give him sometime to adjust in Europe’s most technical league.
I have no problem with Mastantuono, I just don’t think he has proven himself to the point where he gets to start ahead of Paz or Soule. Franco is an 18 yr old who happens to be RM’s first Argentine purchase since Dimaria all the way back in 2010, so needless to say that the kid is ripe with potential, however right now that’s all he is…..POTENTIAL! And at 18 he’s got plenty of time to live up to that potential.
Superb player, as I said before Paz, Soule and Almada are all ready to start yet only one of them is right now. Soule isn’t even being called up while Paz is on the bench while Franco and DePaul are getting undeserved starts. Frustrating and I hope this will change before the WC.
Golazo
He is serious talant and we need him our starting x1 where do think he fits the best personally I would love see him playing as part of midfield three
Part of me thinks that the only way we can win another WC in 2026 is if we add young and hungry, quality players, who are hyper motivated to win. We saw that with Enzo and Mac Allister, they were relatively unknown but shined in the roles given to them. I hope that Almada, Paz, Simeone maybe Barrenechea and Soule can do that. Not the only factors of course, but might be the one we need.
