The Argentina U20 national team will play Nigeria at the U20 World Cup.
Diego Placente’s team finished first in their group and will play Nigeria in the Round of 16 in Chile. Nigeria finished third in their group behind Norway and Colombia.
Argentina won all three matches in the group, first a 3-1 win against Cuba, followed by a 4-1 win against Australia and a 1-0 win against Italy in their last match. Argentina will play Nigeria on Wednesday.
Despite not having our prime european players… the starters of Montoro, Sarco and Delgado are holding bright futures and creating many chances. The subs of Subiabre, Prestianni and Gorosito will cause Nigeria and anyone else problems coming on in the 65th minute. Argentina has as good of a chance as anyone to win this tournament. One note and Argentina’s Achilles heal, goalie… barbi made a huge mistake against Australia when coming out.
