Argentina’s November tour to India could undergo changes

According to reports by TyC Sports, the Argentina National Team’s planned tour for November might undergo changes. The first friendly will be against Angola in Africa, while the second match — originally scheduled to be played in India — could also be moved to the African continent. Morocco is being considered as a possible opponent, though nothing has been confirmed yet.

This possible change would come as disappointing news for Argentina’s large fan base in India, considered one of the biggest outside of Argentina. Supporters across the country had been looking forward to seeing the world champions in action, and while the decision is not final, it would be a major setback for fans who had been preparing to welcome the team.

Weeks ago, Lionel Messi had announced that he will return to India this December for a series of events and initiatives, marking his first visit since 2011 — further fueling excitement among local fans hoping to see him play again.

  1. Sad for Kerala fans like me in India. Kerala has one of the biggest fan following for Argentina since Diego days & it is the first time such an opportunity comes at doorstep. But logistically very unfair to NT players to cover 2 continents for a friendly window. It is correct to keep matches in one continent.
I just hope to see many youngsters get opportunity ( full backs Soler, Barco & maybe even Gorosito , Equi, Barrenchea , Jose Lopez/Taty , Balerdi , Mastantuano & Soule ) . Even if they dont make final squad, atleast that is the future . Wasting minutes on Acuna & Montiel for friendlies is unfortunate.
