Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke about Matías Soulé.
Lionel Scaloni has not called-up Matías Soulé to the Argentina national team for the two friendly matches against Venezuela and Puerto Rico. Scaloni held a press conference on Monday where he commented on if Lionel Messi will play against Puerto Rico on Tuesday. Scaloni also spoke about Matías Soulé. Here is what he had to say:
“Soulé is on our radar, like so many other young players who we believe can contribute to the team. He has been with us, as have Buonanotte, Garnacho, and Carboni. These are young players who we see having a future with the national team and we will call them up as and when we see that they have the potential. That’s the idea.”
Playing for the club vs national team is completely different specifically under Scaloni’s system. Paz has been killing it in SerieA but he has been quite underwhelming so far while Almada has been outstanding even though his club form has been quite inconsistent. Scaloni’s system doesn’t rely on individual talent but team cohesion and chemistry! We don’t have flashy players like France, Spain, Brazil, Portugal or England but we outplay them because of the system put together by Scaloni! Forward and midfield department is stacked right now. The only openings are in FB and CB position. Having said that Junior Simeone can’t get a free pass. He puts in double shift which is no1 requirement under Scaloni but he is a $hit finisher! Worse than Garnacho!
