Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke about the new players in the team and the win against Puerto Rico.
The Argentina national team won 6-0 against Puerto Rico with four players playing in their first match with the national team. Lionel Scaloni spoke to the media after the match. Here is what he had to say:
“We know what it means for newcomers to join the national team for the first time.
“We all feel nervous when we make our debut wearing this shirt. That’s why we try to make sure they enjoy themselves during the first few days.”
Lionel Scaloni also spoke about Nicolás González who played as a left back:
“Nico played there because he can do it. It wasn’t because of the opponent. It’s a position where we only had Tagliafico. Huevo Acuña wasn’t fit to play, so we wanted to try Nico.”
Scaloni commented on the match and the fans:
“We provide the intensity by moving the ball with precision and with the virtue of not suffering counterattacks.
“These are games that work for us.
“The responsibility of a national team player is to show many people how they give their all for the jersey.
“The most important thing we have is young people, and many kids look up to these football players. That’s why it’s so important for our players to be good people.
“All games with this jersey are valid and must be played.
“Thank you to all the fans who came to cheer on the national team and to those who always support us from wherever they are.”

I love Scaloni.
Such a beautiful person.
An absolutely incredible coach/manager.
Most importantly though, he is an amazing human being.
Thank you for being you, Lionel.
The chemistry and companionship, along with passion, determination and commitment, created during your time as the Argentine national team manager is very special and has given me a love felt for this team that I can’t say I’ve ever felt in the last 40 years (I’m 47 years old now).
Thank you Mr Scaloni and God bless your life 🙏🏼🤲
