  1. Why on earth haven’t we played Barco until now and how the hell is DePaul on this team. DePaul wouldn’t even start at a middle of the pack Primera team let alone the national team. Leave his ass home. The favoritism is what killed this NT before Scaloni and to bring this sack of shit in his current form and leave out Soule and Barranchea is a complete joke. We are loaded with young talent and if you make the decision to lay on the beach in Miami then get ready to live with that decision dope. Please show his ass the door.

    • Man, why criticising de paul. He was out of form even during that famous 2022 world cup. His passing looks horrible at some point but he managed to close that gap with his effort and relentless running. Look he has that leadership and has the quality to make the team united than ever. Its very important. De paul can never be replaced. I would choose any version of de paul instead of prime riquelme in an Argentine Jersey. He has to be in the squad. But the starting position now is debatable for him. But he is unpredictable. Let’s wait and see.

  2. Nico Gonzalez did not look out of place as a LB even if it was against a weak opponent. He looked like a competent, attacking fullback, I liked the body language and composure. Latched onto Messi’s diagonal pass and flicked a nice assist to Barco. I wonder if he can be an option for that role when Tagliafico is not available. He has played LB for use before, more than once.

    • Nico brings aerial threats to the opponents unlike our other forwards. He is a work horse. No doubt in that. But man, that barco, perrone, paz trio looks breathtaking. Barco looks too cool and too comfortable with the ball. He has that magic. The thing is he is up there in work rate. I really want this Argentine midfield. Even the ball looks romantic with them. I hope scaloni field the best in form midfield trio.

    • Nico gonZalez is way better than taglafico..
      as……..
      1/ Speed
      2/ dribballing
      3/ hight
      4/ Vision
      5/ key pass
      6/power
Even nico is a good trackler..
I think nico can bring us team speed..

    • Nico Gonzalez has all the makings of a decent fullback (athleticism, skill, work rate) but let’s not get carried away here, playing against Zambia is no indication whether he is able to deputise for Tagliafico; that’s the problem with playing against weak teams like Zambia and the like, you get nothing out of them (apart from Tapia and the AFA lining up their pockets).
I would personally like to see Licha (assuming he gets fit) playing LB, he did it with Ajax in the CL and I’m certain he could do it again. Medina has been looking decent with Marseille so he’s also an option but overall the RB, LB positions are a major weakness for Argentina at the moment.

  3. Just a personal opinion. I prefer if scaloni kept that midfield during this friendly fixtures intact the way it is;
    ‎Paredes
    ‎Depaul
    ‎Enzo
    ‎Macalister
    ‎Nico Paz
    ‎Barco
    ‎Perrone
    ‎Palacios

    Forward Line
    Messi
    ‎Almada
    ‎Lautaro
    ‎Nico Gonzalez
    ‎Prestianni
    ‎Alvarez

The backline is where alot needs to be sorted. But should the midfield and forward line remains unchanged, it will be a great team

  4. The result of the match was in line with expectations and satisfactory. Still, it was strange to see largely the same names in the starting formation again. Scaloni and staff have seen these players at work many times. You would think that he would want to see others at work. In the past year, many players have been called up who have not or hardly got playing time. Think of Lomonaco, Rojas, Lopez, Nardoni, Varela etc. I’m curious what Scaloni has learned from the series of friendly matches against weak opponents.

Apparently, the list of 55 players has already been submitted to AFA. 29 Names have to be skipped. Hopefully, they make wise decisions and leave out players that bring absolutely nothing like Mastantuono.

With no more matches until the warm-up games against Serbia and Honduras, let’s hope everybody stays fit and free of injuries.
Usually, there is at least one surprise in the squad. Maybe it will be Tomas Aranda. Or will it be the unexpected return of Di Maria?

    • Just the thought of seeing Di Maria back in the team give goosebumps. We haven’t yet found his replacement. Nobody can match his clarity, technique and cleverness.

  5. We don’t have any good winger. This is serious concern I believe. Last time we had di maria now we don’t have any player who is reliable. Even there is are so many players who can play in Messi’s position but no player is there who can replace Di maria.

    • Also Scaloni won’t call Matias Soule, I guess Prestianni could have been tried in either of the games

    • Our young wingers are mostly error prone. Soule is overrated. He is not even half of simeone in terms of work rate. And he is not even near to dybala in attacking terms and dribbling. So it is a waste of a spot. Garnacho and mastantuno no chance this time. Prestianni looks good for the time being but lacks that physicality and defenders can easily take the ball from him. But if scaloni needs a di maria replacement who can create danger in the wings then there is only prestianni in the current scenario only available.

  6. Iraq has reached the World Cup finals for the second time in its history. I am here to congratulate all Iraqis around the world in general, and our friend on Mundo, Mamoun, in particular

    • Thanks Dadir much appreciated. Yeah, I gotta say I didn’t even know that I cared all that much, I haven’t been back to Baghdad since I left 30 years ago and in my mind my patriotism was all but gone but today I was jumping up and down like a maniac, I guess it’s true what they say “you can take the man out of the country but can’t take the country out of the man”.
I looked at our group and it’s France, Norway and Senegal…..yeesh! Honestly I would be happy if we don’t end up being the whipping boys of the group but sadly all signs point to it being the case.

      • That great country of yours deserves the best after everything it has been through over the past few decades. I hope your team does great in their group and grabs at least one of the eight best third-placed spots. I am sure last night’s win will help heal the wounds of the past and put a big smile on the faces of all Iraqis.

        • Thanks for the kind words Dadir. Yeah Iraq has been through a lot but things are looking up, now with the resistance kicking out the American and NATO occupation and the team qualifying for the WC.
The world is a very dangerous place for all of us and so may god have mercy on us all.
