Inter Miami coach Guillermo Hoyos confirms Lionel Messi is not injured after substitution

Inter Miami coach Guillermo Hoyos has confirmed that Lionel Messi is not injured after being substituted.

Lionel Messi was substituted out for Inter Miami in their 6-4 win against Philadelphia with a possible injury. It has since been reported that Messi asked to be substituted out as precaution and not due to injury.

The Inter Miami coach spoke at a press conference after the match. Here is what he had to say about Messi:

“We still don’t have the final medical report but Leo was fatigued and tired at the moment. And because of that fatigue, we didn’t want to take any risks.”

  1. Scaloni and staff are facing major headaches with all the injuries that happened over the last few weeks. There was already a lack of form of most players, and now many of them also suffered setbacks.

My hopes were not great to begin with, but now I hope we’re not the next in line of World Champions that go out in the first round (France 2002, Spain 2014, Germany 2018). Our midfield duo Enzo – Mac Allister was among the best in the world, but Neves and Vitanha are way ahead of them and they are not the only ones. I still think Alvarez is a top striker, but he finished in 36th place in the Spanish top scorers list in La Liga. Harry Kane has more league goals than Alvarez and Lautaro together. And we can go on and on.

It is hard to imagine that players like LoCelso and Acuna are being considered, let alone Madrid flop Mastantuono. Let’s hope Scaloni, Ayala, Samuel and Aimar wake up and realise we need fit, fast, technically skilled and hungry players to defend the title.

I am sure one of them watched France beat Brazil in a friendly recently or the stunning display of both Bayern and PSG in their encounters. They must wonder if we can match the intensity and speed of modern top football. In the last Copa final Colombia already looked much more energetic than our team. Two years down the line and many of the same players still in the squad, we probably need to rethink strategy. I would opt for a 4-1-4-1 line-up with Messi on the bench for the first round games.

    Dibu
    Molina – Romero – Senesi – Tagliafico
    Licha Martinez
Paz – Mac Allister – Fernandez – Buendia
    Alvarez

Messi can come in for Paz in the 2nd half or be rested until the K.O. games.

I wish we could field other players than Molina and Tagliafico but nobody has been seriously tried in the friendlies. A huge mistake by the coaching staff.

  2. Great news expected
Now the thing is marcus acuna
He has hasmtring injury and will now scaloni call him up? That is the biggest question
