Tagliafico started for Argentina in the 2-0 win against Honduras, reaching 76 matches with Argentina. At 76 matches, he has overtaken Juan Pablo Sorín as the left back with the most matches with the Argentina national team.
The 33 year old has played 24 South American World Cup qualifying matches, 24 friendly matches, 17 Copa America matches, 10 World Cup matches and one Finalissima.
With the Argentina national team, Tagliafico has won one World Cup, two Copa America’s and one Finalissima trophy.
Juan Pablo Sorín played 75 matches with Argentina, 31 of them in South American World Cup qualifiers, 23 friendly matches, nine Copa America matches, seven World Cup matches and five Confederations Cup matches.
