Lionel Scaloni’s team will play friendly matches in September and October. According to Martin Arevalo, the Argentina national team will play one match in Argentina and two in China in the upcoming friendly games.
Argentina will also play friendly matches in November but no opponents have been announced.
This doesn’t make any sense now i know, but looking back France would have been a more motivational opponent for us in the finals. Because they would have immediately brought on a fire inside our players, I somehow feel the match vs England drained all the energy and fire in our players, That match was The IT for us.
Spain meanwhile a great football nation for some reason don’t evoke a fear or fire in opponents, They are like a slow poison who eventually kills you. But slowly, eventually all will lose against Spain drained. A boring team in every sense more boring than even Italy who is traditionally a defensive team.
France would have been coming with fire for revenge that itself would have been a motivation.
I don’t think we fully understand the magnitude of what we have achieved as a national team since the 2014 World Cup. There have been ups and downs, obviously, but for the most part, we have remained among the elite teams in international football.
Argentina have arguably been the most successful national team since the 2014 World Cup, apart from the setback in 2018. Would it be a false accusation to say that? It will take a tremendous effort for any upcoming generation of players to surpass what this team has achieved.
As fans, I think we should be grateful for this era. Whether we will have to wait a long time again, as we did from 1994 to 2021, or continue winning trophies and carrying this momentum forward, only time will tell.
Looks like Mastantuono is heading to Fiorentina. I personally don’t think he’s got world-class potential from what I’ve watched, but I really do hope the move goes through and he has a good run with La Viola.
He got a lot of minutes last season, but was a real disaster. Maybe this season could be his breakthrough in European football.

From my very first post on this forum, I’ve been criticizing Tapia and how his leadership has been dragging Argentine football backwards. His failure to arrange quality friendlies before every World Cup year has repeatedly left the national team underprepared. Not to forget his nonstop scandals in domestic league and ongoing investigations of money laundering.

Since Lionel Scaloni took over Argentina, I honestly feel like I’ve only seen the team play truly beautiful football in five matches: the 3–0 win against Uruguay, the 3–0 against Italy in the Finalissima, the 4–1 against Brazil, the first 75 minutes of the World Cup final against France, and the 2–1 against England.
Other than those, everything else they’ve played has been bad. It just hasn’t been the kind of attractive football that satisfies anyone who actually loves watching a good game.
Go support Spain. Argentina don’t care about playing beautiful football. Winning is all that matters. They played beautiful football in 2006 and again in 2010, and ended up empty handed both times. Scaloni is a results driven coach, and he’s done a terrific job delivering exactly that.
