Argentina are trying to convince Carlos Díez of Spain to play for the Argentina national team.
Carlos Díez is born in Spain to an Argentine father and has represented Spain at youth level. According to Doble Amarilla, the AFA are trying to get him to represent Argentina.
The 19 year old plays as a midfielder for Real Madrid’s youth team and won the Youth League with Real Madrid.

If he chooses his team based on who won vs who he holds his identity with, we do not want him in the first place. Our current team’s success is almost entirely due to the fact that the team has a singular family identity.
