Mateo Pellegrino scored for Fiorentina, while Franco Mastantuono started and Giovanni Simeone came off the bench for Torino in Saturday’s Serie A match.
Mastantuono was in Fiorentina’s starting eleven and came close to scoring during the first half. The 19-year-old found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but his right-footed effort was saved. He was substituted at halftime after playing the opening 45 minutes.
Pellegrino then gave Fiorentina the lead early in the second half. The Argentine-born striker scored to make it 1-0 and register another goal in Italy.
Simeone entered the match for Torino in the second half, with his team eventually turning the result around to claim a 2-1 victory.
