  1. This may sound crazy but maybe Scaloni or some of the players could persuade Messi to come back from retirement to play in some matches and a last world cup finale in 2030.

By then he’d surely get over his dad’s departure and the past cup final match disappointment, and can come on as substitute..

  2. Finding the best young players and prefering a best formation to suit them without loosing balance is the best start.
Football journalists say Scaloni planning a 4222 after Messi.
I think this formation can be easily adjusted into ‘ narrow 4132’ or ‘narrow 4213’ during the game, or a ‘4231 interior’ with a slight adjustment.

We have plenty of players emerging for these positions.

I think Prestianni will be used as main backup of Alvarez at the starting(behind main CF) and Mastantuono will be used for half De Paul’s and a half Messi’s roles..!

Paz, Prestianni, Barco, Mastantuono, Giay, Equi, Simeone, Soule etc should be playing regularly, and ready for next Copa/WC.

  3. England actually played well against Spain. They should’ve won, or at least come away with a draw. The midfield was excellent and consistently created openings.

This Spanish team isn’t the same feared side of Xavi, Iniesta, David Villa, and Puyol. Argentina should not have lost to Spain and Scaloni’s overly cautious tactics are exactly what cost Argentina the World Cup. And let’s not forget Enzo’s needless red card and Paredes roid‑rage nonsense absolutely contributed to the loss. Moments like that swing matches, and Argentina paid for it.

    • What are you talking about? Non penalty xG:
England 0,97 Spain 3,11 in Wembley in a quasi friendly game. Thats a humiliation. This Spain broke the longest unbeaten streak ever+highest ELO rating ever.

    • @LordeDante
I 100% agree with you. Paredes and Enzo’s stupidity cost us that final. Also, the Julian sub at the end and why tf would Scaloni bring in Simeone knowing he’s one of the worst finishers in the squad? G.Simeone is not national team level player. He is bang average with better work rate than Garnacho!

Scaloni had a horrible final. His subs were just out of desperation. He couldn’t keep the players’ nerves under control. Instead of utilizing Nico G. off the bench, which had been his strength throughout the tournament, he started him.

That final was the worst match Argentina ever played under Scaloni. Also, the Finalissima getting canceled didn’t help Scaloni or Argentina either.

  4. Why is Palacios even starting? Wasn’t he supposed to be De Paul’s replacement? When De Paul was having one disastrous game after another, Scaloni barely even gave Palacios a chance. So why is he still there?

It’s time to move on from Palacios, Montiel, Molina and Almada. Hopefully these matches are also farewell for some of the old guards like De Paul and Lo Celso.

And please, no Medina. We can do much better than him. I just don’t see what he brings to this team, he’s painfully mediocre.

    • Agreed. What’s the point of calling up Equi Fernández and a dozen other players, including an in‑form Prestianni, if you’re not going to use them? It would be a good time to test out Barco as an inverted LB

If Scaloni actually goes with this rumored lineup against Bolivia, it’ll be another missed opportunity.

  5. World Cup final players should start only on Messi’s farewell match. Makes no sense to start MacAllister and both Alvarez and Martinez. MacAllister was big disappointment in crucial moment. No idea, no passion at all in the final. So what’s that? Reward for that shame? He should be given serious break if ever coming back. Of course Prestianni should be a starter whichever line-up Scaloni considers strongest.

    • Unfortunately he will see the icardi’s treatment. He Already colored as bad boy in global media. Argentina FA will prolly be pressured not to give him fair opportunities. I swear he has upset a lot of people and for a good reason. Its completely uncool to be racist and homophobic

      • “Argentina FA will prolly be pressured” Lol, how? Scaloni decide what players he field, not even AFA, let alone someone else.

      • “Racist” and “homophobic” who cares about this bullshit labels that serves only to censor. All this BLM kneeling and so on is just laughable. In Prestianni’s case they can’t even prove anything and to punish anyone without strong evidence and only upon conjecture is unprecedented in football so far.

  6. Finally, I can see Nico Paz playing as part of a midfield three, the role Lo Celso used to play in the early days of the Scaloni era.

    • I’m excited to see this as well. I started watching some Como games this year, and Paz is playing super well.
