Lionel Messi is set to join and train with the Argentina national team on Sunday.
Messi will join the Argentina national team for the last time before Argentina’s match on Tuesday. The 39 year old was not part of the team for the two matches against Bolivia and Burkina Faso but will join them to play in his last match with the Argentina national team.
Training is set for Sunday.
We will be missing the guy who represented us single-handedly at the pinnacle of world football, a stage that was once dominated by the Brazilians, French, and other footballing giants.
Trust me, it may take many years for an Argentine to win another Ballon d’Or.
Most of the current generation who became Argentina fans did so because of Messi. But for me, it was always Argentina first and Messi second. My love for the Argentina national team will always remain.
Still, we will miss El Messiah.
It may take decades to see a player of his kind again — a player who could carry a nation, create magic, and make the impossible look ordinary.
Thank you Leo…Sports is not for faint hearted.
I have been an Argentina fan from before Messi was born, watched the WC qualifiers, the WC and Copa America through out the years whenever I could but I never watched club football, the Champions league the Euros…etc until the day I heard about this kid called, Messi.
So I started watching Barcelona just to see what all the fuss was about and was instantly hooked and never stopped.
Seeing Messi wearing the Albiceleste for the very last time is going to hurt, all the memories, the goals, the moments in time, the heart ache, the many disappointments, and the fantasy that became reality and was even sweeter than I could have ever imagined.
