Cristian Romero scores for Tottenham in 2-3 loss vs. Arsenal

Cristian Romero scored for Tottenham in their 2-3 loss at home vs. Arsenal on matchday 35 of the Premier League.

With Arsenal winning by three, the Argentine center-back pressed high up the pitch and intercepted a sloppy pass from the Gunners’ goalkeeper, controlled the ball at the edge of the box, and shot with his right foot to the back of the net to make it 1-3 and bring Tottenham back into the match.

The Argentine now has five Premier League goals this season, the most out of an Premier League defender this season. Giovanni Lo Celso entered the pitch for Spurs in the 87th minute.

With this loss, Tottenham remain seven points off from a Champions League spot, although they have played two games less than their main competitors, Emiliano Martinez’s Aston Villa.

  1. Cuti Romero played and roamed up front and made a goal although Spurs lost 2-3 to Arsenal due to an error of defense. He is an outstanding CB, with an aggressive play style, ability on the ball, and dominance in aerial duels.
