Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni speaks at press conference before World Cup qualifier

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke at a press conference before the World Cup qualifier against Bolivia.

The Argentina national team will play Bolivia on Tuesday in a World Cup qualifier. The team drew 1-1 against Venezuela on Thursday and coach Scaloni spoke at a press conference on Monday. Here is what he had to say:

“We are considering the possibility of Lautaro (Martínez) and Julián (Álvarez) playing but a lone striker can also play. We are open to all possibilities.”

Lionel Scaloni also spoke about calling up players for the October World Cup qualifiers:

“This was a difficult call up, we could not count on some players. But we are not complaining. We are fine and we are facing the situations.”

Scaloni commented on his time as coach:

“Back in 2018 we didn’t think we would make it this far. This is a beautiful position, but we know what it means to be sitting here. We are proud of how we have carried out this process, magnified by the titles.”

  1. Climbing from the bottom is difficult. But staying at the zenith is even more difficult because there is little space to keep your feet and balance. Also oxygen is getting thinner there. We did not do good against Colombia and Venezuela. Conditions were not in favour. Still I would say, we did not show enough grit and Scaloni did not show any technical finesse.
