The Argentina National Team, which is preparing for the two upcoming South American World Cup Qualifiers against Chile and Colombia, completed another training session on Monday in Ezeiza.
The squad, with Lionel Messi who arrived early this morning, began the session in the gym with intense stationary bike exercises.
Afterward, coach Lionel Scaloni led tactical drills focusing on defense-to-attack transitions, finishing exercises, and small-sided games in three 10-minute blocks.
The team’s defenders also worked on specific drills alongside Walter Samuel and Roberto Ayala, with an emphasis on build-up play and defensive reorganization when tracking back.

Super excited for the new team members. Hope at least a couple of them like Nico Paz get good game time. Colombia made us sweat in the reverse fixture and that game was marked by poor refereeing. Hope this time we do much better against them.
Nico paz is going back to real Madrid
At this point lo celso should retire from nt because he is injured again , he will miss against chile and could be out vs Colombia but the good thing is we have much better options than him likes nico paz and almada even fit Buendia isn’t bad option either
This might be the leanest and close to most deserving and forward looking list in my memory. No legacy call ups to complain about, no Pezzella, Montiel, etc. Garnacho was deservingly cut. Out of the box thinking with Trolio, exposure to Mastantuono and Lomonaco. Matias Soule is the only one I would add.
Montiel is the most unfortunate one, not because he is bad but he is very inconsistent and never really settled in Europe. Other than the accidental handball that led to Mbappe’s 2nd penalty in the 2022 WC final, he was wreaking havoc on France. The final action of the match which saw Lautaro miss yet agian, came from the pin point cross from Montiel . He was also unlucky with a long range shot which Varane somehow managed to head the ball over and not to mention his looping ball that initiated the sequence that led to Messi’s goal in the extra time. But it’s time to move on. Our other RB, Molina has been forced to bench by a makeshift RB at Atletico! Regarding Foyth, he would be a good option when defending a lead or when we play deep but he can’t be our starting RB. We desperately need new blood on both flanks, if we are serious about defending the title.
I don’t care about his club level performance but he is a lion when he plays for NT. Shame he couldn’t do good in Europe. Agreed with you about this new blood needed in our fullback position however we ain’t got much at the moment. Most of em is young and maybe Scaloni will figure out soon or he has to do make shift full back to defend our title
Although Scaloni has called up Pablo Maffeo to the NT, he didn’t give him any minutes. There’s another option at RB whom Scaloni could try. Nahuel Tenaglia of Deportivo Alaves.
Troilo will be another solid found. Hopefully he turns out like his idol. That’s the thing I love about Scaloni & Co. They have real eyes for finding right players for right positions. I think Scaloni already have an eye for World Cup squad to finding taller CB fighting against specifically European.
I think, they are not just tall but fast too..!
