González will be joining Diego Simeone’s team. According to Gastón Edul, the Argentine will join Atletico Madrid as there is an agreement that has been reached.

They are waiting for La Liga’s approval to complete the move.

  1. Great signing! He has struggled to replicate his Florentina form at Juventus but Atletico needs a established winger in their team to create and score goals from the wings. G.Simeone isn’t ready to be their starting winger on the right flank yet. With Depaul gone, Atletico isn’t looking great in the midfield! Yes RDP made errors trying to defend Simeone’s 1 -0 leads but he was someone who kept their midfield functioning with his tracking back and also his creativity. Additionally, they don’t have a midfielder with his goal scoring abilities! Initially I was among those who wanted him out but his move to MLS will keep him fresh for the world cup!

    • I dont think he will replace G Simeone in Starting XI. Almada is not a natural Winger. I think Nico is going to be on the left. With Simeone on the right and Nico on the left, Atletco will have fast wingers from both side.

      • Yes, he will play on the left side and Simeone will bring Almada to more central attacking role behind his strikers.
