Alejo Sarco speaks on Argentina U20’s 3-1 win vs. Cuba at U20 World Cup

Alejo Sarco spoke about the Argentina U20 national team’s 3-1 win against Cuba at the U20 World Cup.

Sarco scored two goals for Argnetina in their first match in Chile. The first goal from close range and the second a header with Ian Subiabre scoring the other goal for Argentina. Speaking after the match, here is what Sarco had to say:

“I’m very pleased, very happy. It was very important to start with a win and luckily we managed to pull it off.

“We were down a man for a long time, but we knew how to handle it and gave it our all on the pitch.”

  1. In every youth tournament Argentina lost because of defense and goalkeeping errors. This U-20 also in 1st match same problem. Already 1 player red carded. Another thing I noticed lack of heights of our defenders. Despite being in charge of long period placente failed to find tall defender for this tournament. Remember Argentina struggle in south America U-20 tournament earlier due to short heights against physically strong team like Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay etc. Also I don’t understand why our coaches select 7 defender instead of 8 in big tournament.
