Boca Juniors beat River Plate 1-0 at the Monumental in a tight Superclásico with few clear chances and a controversial ending. The only goal came in the end of the first half, when Leandro Paredes scored from the penalty spot after a handball by Lautaro Rivero.
Boca waited for their moments and looked to attack quickly. Miguel Merentiel had some of their best chances, including one where he went one-on-one with Beltrán but missed the target. Paredes also played several good passes forward to create danger.
River’s best chance in the first half came from Salas, who came on for the injured Driussi. After a mistake by Boca, Salas took a shot that went just wide. Later in the match, Acuña sent in a few dangerous crosses, but no one could finish them.
Leandro Brey had a solid match for Boca and kept a clean sheet. On the other side, Beltrán made some key saves to keep River in the game.
In the second half, River pushed forward more. Lucas Martínez Quarta tried to lead the attack and even had a chance late on, but it was not enough.
There was also a big moment at the end, when River asked for a penalty after contact on Martínez Quarta, but the referee did not give it.
Boca held on to win the match and extend their unbeaten run, while River were left frustrated after missing chances and the late decision.
