Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has spoken about the injured players and if they would be at the World Cup.
Lionel Scaloni has injured players on the team with players on reserve to be picked for the World Cup if the injured players do not recover. The Argentina national team will play against Honduras on Saturday and Scaloni spoke at a press conference before the match. Here is what he had to say:
“Today, we have the feeling that the guys are doing well but we are completely sure that if anyone does not meet the minimum availability, they will be left out. We are clear on that.
“For now, they are doing well. We have been monitoring them and not risking them, that’s true. When the last week arrives, the decisive step, there we will make the decision that we have to make.
“We will be very upset if any of the guys have to be left out. We will see in the following week when we speed up the recoveries.
“Those who train separately are improving. We already knew when we have the list, each one’s situation. The idea is that they do not take part in the two friendly matches. At best, from the second match, there might be a chance that some of them could play.”
