Argentina against Spain in the Finalissima could be played in November.
A repeat of the 2026 World Cup final can be happening this year. According to ESPN Argentina, the Finalissima, which was postponed earlier this year, can be taking place this year in November in Qatar.
It would be at Lusail stadium as the government of Qatar already has the rights to the stadium.
Now, what on earth is the point of playing the Finalissima after losing the World Cup? It was a great opportunity for the AFA to somehow arrange the Finalissima before the World Cup so we could have seen how we measured up against Spain. That opportunity was lost. So what’s the point now? Is it just to get revenge?
I’m afraid post scolani, Argentina will not be as strong as it is now and all pandits ( ESPN, Sky sports) predicted it will be cake walk for Spain 3-0, 4-0 etc and I’m only disappointed due to Enzo frustrations and Referee also got unnecessarily frustrated and immediately showed another yellow, he could have been more mature emotionally let alone Enzo and Simone missed otherwise Spain despite of all time possession could not score against this resilient team until that moments. If Argentina can regain their composure after this painful defeat, a rematch against Spain could still be a fascinating contest.
But if the squad remains emotionally drained, and if Scaloni is already halfway out the door, agreeing to this match could invite another humiliation. The timing matters as much as the opponent.
Argentina should play this game only if the players and the coaching staff are mentally ready to compete. And if we do, it should also mark the beginning of a new cycle. Fresh faces deserve opportunities in place of Molina, De Paul, Nico González, and perhaps Paredes—who may be unavailable anyway.
This wouldn’t just be a rematch. It would be the first step towards rebuilding.

The new coach should be Argentine that combines the interpersonal skills of Scaloni and the mind of top notch game tactics and risk tolerance.
Good if this match goes on. The team needs a chance of redemption. Hopefully the likes of Molina, Montiel, Otamendi, De Paul, Paredes, and Nico Gonzalez will stay far away from the team by then

Please, a serious question for all of you: who created the hate campaign against Argentina? I have never seen such hate. Because they have been a successful national team for the last eight years, I know Ronaldo fan base and the British media are part of this campaign.
I will never believe Argentina is more racist than Spain, Germany, France, England, or Arab and Asian countries.
This is something we need to find out. The hate campaign against Argentina and specially Messi was so high during the tournament that I feel all these bad energies affect us. Don’t know who is paying for all these. The big and famous portal in social platforms were continuously circulating fake news against Argentina and they were successful establishing narratives that the tournament is rigged for Messi. AFA should do something to stop this in the future. If needed, we need legal actions against those medias.
It’s mostly people who have never watched football suddenly watching it, especially because it’s in the USA lol.
People acting like Paredes and Enzo incident are some kind of new evil. They have never watched old premiere league with likes of Keane.
This caused by three sources:
1) Brazil fans – too many around the world, and no one is more active on social media than Brazil.
2) Ronaldo and Real Madrid fans – also they are everywhere.
3) Fans of European top teams who are sore losers: England, France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, etc.

Lionel Scaloni cost Argentina a World Cup. Had Argentina won it, they would now have four stars, and Lionel Messi would have become a two-time World Cup champion. In my opinion, Scaloni should be sacked.
I also believe that De Paul, Mac Allister, Enzo Fernández, and Paredes showed poor decision-making and a lack of football intelligence. Yesterday, Paredes seemed to deliberately put himself in a position to receive a red card.
Argentina played extremely poorly, and I believe the manager deserves the majority of the blame. Scaloni has enjoyed a great deal of success over the years, but I also think fortune has been on his side. What I don’t understand is why he consistently adopts an overly physical approach against teams with world-class wingers. In the 2021 Copa América final, Argentina committed numerous fouls against Neymar, and yesterday they did the same against Spain. That is not the kind of football I want to see.
If Argentina truly want to dominate future World Cups, they need a manager whose philosophy is built on attacking football. South American football has lost much of its identity and, in my view, is no longer at the same level as European football.
The first World Cup I watched was in 2006, and ironically, Lionel Messi spent the entire match on the bench against Germany. One thing that frustrates me about many Argentine and Brazilian managers is their stubbornness—they often refuse to adapt. Modern football is all about flexibility, tactical intelligence, and an attacking mindset.
Ultimately, Argentina need an attack-minded manager. Otherwise, it may take another 40 years to win the World Cup again. I sincerely wish I could one day become Argentina’s manager and build a fearless, relentlessly attacking team that every opponent would fear.

Yes, screw the Finalissima. Start building for World Cup 2030 and 2034 now. AFA should be okay with not winning Copa 2028 to build a proper team who can compete and make it at least to the semi finals next WC.
