  1. And dont forget in 94 (without Maradona) in 98, in 2002, in 2006 (wo Messi) the avg. squad quality were much stronger and more balanced than in 86, 90, 2014 and in 26, maybe just WC22 were comparable with them, just no cheat code Goat-level player in those teams who even without goal or assist has game changer gravity. Usually our strongest squads are the biggest flops: WC82 were Maradona sky high best squad and WC94 after that, WC2002 no words, WC 2010 could be the best squad for Messi with a proper coach (crazy players on paper).

  2. For delulu FC who thinks Argentina will be the same powerhouse wo Messi:

KO matches against europeans (*before 86 we hardly played real KO matches against them so i count between 74-82 the second group stage matches too, Maradona didnt play in 94 vs Romania, Messi didnt play vs Germany in 2006):

before Maradona: 2/5 and 1 draw against East Germany in 74 after we already were KOd from second group stages.

    with Maradona 5/7

between Maradona and Messi era: 1/4 and a failed group stages against Sweden and England so in reality its even worse

with Messi 8/12 and dont forget this with Maradona and Sampaoli as coaches, so under normal circumstances its rather 8/10.

Every south american after WC2002 against europeans in KO(+2006 Argentina wo Messi): 2/19 again 2/19!!! compared with Messi’s Argentina 8/12 (with Maradona and Sampaoli tax).

Who really thinks Argentina wont be a last 16/last 8-level team again without a Maradona/Messi-caliber player is out of his mind. Prestianni and Carrizo will carry us to the WC final LOL. The reality we will be the same bitches of europeans as Brazil, every other south american and ARG were mostly wo Maradona and Messi. The ONLY hope is Lionel Scaloni.
