Emiliano Martínez commented on the World Cup and Lionel Messi’s retirement from the Argentina national team.
Martínez arrived to Argentina for their three friendly matches against Bolivia, Burkina Faso and Benin. Speaking with SportsCenter, here is what he had to say:
“It’s great to reach a second consecutive final. Unfortunately, we couldn’t win it. I’m going to regret that for a long time.”
When asked about Lionel Messi’s farewell match:
“Messi’s farewell? I thought he had already retired, so the possibility of retiring here is a dream and we will try to make it a beautiful day.”
