Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke about Lionel Messi retiring from the Argentina national team and the team after Messi.
Lionel Scaloni spoke at a press conference after Lionel Messi’s final match with the Argentina national team and Messi’s speech after the match. Speaking at the press conference, here is what Scaloni had to say about it:
“How do you say that word? Aura is it? Yes, I’ve never seen anything like whaat Leo Messi has.
“What he generates isn’t seen by anyone, so this is what we will miss.
“We will build a new team, but this feeling will not be there anymore and it’s hard to grasp.
“Leo Messi is still the best player in the world.
“For me, and I don’t think I’m wrong, there will never be anything like Leo Messi again on a football pitch.
“His teammates look at him the same way everyone else does. As great as they are as players, he remains incomparable even to them.
“At no point in my life did I ever imagine that I would become the coach of the greatest footballer in history. He deserves everything. He has been the best throughout a 20-year career, and he still is.
“Of course, we will keep going because, as I always say, you have to keep going. The Argentina National Team will continue, but he is an irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind footballer.
“Before, even if you were having a bad game, you had a player who could suddenly unlock it with one moment of genius. Now we won’t have that.
“The only way to compensate for his absence is with a team, a great team where everyone contributes their part.”
