Valentín “Taty” Castellanos found the net in Lazio’s 2-1 away victory against Cagliari on Matchday 23 of Serie A.

With the match tied at 1-1 in the 64th minute, the Argentine striker found himself with the ball just outside the six-yard box. Taking advantage of the goalkeeper’s poor positioning, Castellanos calmly struck a left-footed shot into an empty net, securing the 2-1 win for his team.

With this goal, Castellanos reached his eighth goal in Serie A this season.

Nehuén Pérez found the net in FC Porto’s 2-2 away draw against Rio Ave on Matchday 20 of the Primeira Liga, marking his first goal for the club.

According to reports from TyC Sports, the worst news was confirmed on Monday after medical tests: Lisandro Martínez has torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the season.

The images from England had already raised concerns, but it wasn’t until today that Manchester United officially confirmed the diagnosis. The 27-year-old defender will require surgery and is expected to be sidelined for approximately six to eight months.

Nicolás Otamendi scores for Benfica in 3-2 win vs. Estrela Amadora

Nicolás Otamendi found the net in Benfica’s 3-2 away victory against Estrela Amadora on Matchday 20 of the Primeira Liga.

The Argentine center-back opened the scoring in the 6th minute. Following a header off a corner kick, Otamendi managed to strike a right-footed volley inside the six-yard box. The goalkeeper got a hand on it, but only after the ball had already crossed the line. With that, Benfica took a 1-0 lead thanks to the experienced 36-year-old defender.

Ángel Di María also played for the visitors but had to be substituted in the second half after feeling discomfort in the inner part of his right thigh.

Lisandro Martínez leaves in tears after injury in Manchester United’s defeat

Lisandro Martínez suffered a left knee injury late in Manchester United’s 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace on Premier League Matchday 24. The Argentine defender was stretchered off in tears, raising concerns for both United and the Argentina national team ahead of March’s World Cup Qualifiers against Uruguay and Brazil.

United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his concern after the match: “I believe it’s a serious situation. It’s tough for us, not just because he’s a great player but also a strong presence in the locker room. This is the time for everyone to support him.”
