Valentín Barco’s strong performances in France have caught the attention of one of Europe’s biggest clubs. According to reports from Fichajes and the German outlet TZ, Bayern Munich are monitoring the 21-year-old Argentine defender, who has become one of Racing Strasbourg’s standout players this season in Ligue 1.

Barco, a former Boca Juniors youth product, joined Strasbourg earlier this year and quickly adapted to French football, alternating between left-back and midfield roles. His versatility and attacking qualities have made him a key part of the team.

Sources in Germany indicate that Bayern’s scouting department has followed several of Barco’s matches, viewing him as a possible reinforcement ahead of next summer’s transfer window. The Bavarian club values his youth, athletic ability, and tactical flexibility — traits that fit their long-term sporting strategy.

Strasbourg, part of the same ownership group as Chelsea, reportedly values Barco at around €40 million. His current contract runs until 2029.

This season, Barco has made eight Ligue 1 appearances — seven as a starter — and recorded two assists. Strasbourg remains one of the surprises of the campaign, sitting near the top of the league table after an impressive 3–3 draw against PSG.
