MESSI’S FITNESS STILL UNCERTAIN

After the victoria against Chile, it is still uncertain if Messi will be ready to play this friday against Panama.   All the reports indicate that he is doing better but is still training apart from the team along with Lucas Bilgia who is also recovering well. In my opinion, there is really no reason to rush him back.  On another note Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi were finally incorporated and completed a full training session with the rest of the team.  They may and could also be used on Friday as possible substitutes.

and finally… Happy Birthday to Javier Mascherano today!!!

Tata MARTINO: “He’s (MESSI) going to take the decision”

Tata MARTINO held a press conference and spoke about Lionel MESSI’s injury and the team. Here’s what he had to say:

“We’re going to evaluate MESSI tonight. He’s going to take the decision (if he plays). It’s an injury, it’s not tactical. We’re going to have to wait for MESSI. GAITAN will replace MESSI only by name. I can’t ask him to be like Leo, it’s too much pressure”.

“The ideal team is the one we put out on the pitch. The responsibility of winning is down to the team and not to history. We hope to play in the final but with a different outcome this time”.
