Gerónimo Rulli spoke about being called up for the Argentina national team and his season with Ajax.

Rulli is in Argentina and is one of the three goalkeepers who is part of the team for the two friendly matches in June and the provisional team for the Copa America. Speaking in an interview with ESPN, Rulli commented on his season with Ajax. Here is what he had to say:

“It was a weird season, I started with a serious shoulder injury and I didn’t recover properly until February but I ended feeling well. I am happy to be part of the national team once more and I am eager to start.

“When we play with our clubs, it is to be with the national team and when we get called up, it’s always like the first time.”

Exequiel Palacios won the German Cup with Bayer Leverkusen and reached his 10th career title. He celebrated by lifting the trophy with an Argentine flag around him, on a very special date in the history of the country (25 de mayo).

Although the 25-year-old midfielder didn’t play neither the final, semifinal, or
quarterfinal of the competition, he scored a goal in the round of 16, in his team’s 3-1
win vs. Paderborn. He also scored another goal from the penalty spot in the second round, in his team’s 5-2 victory vs. SV Sandhausen.

Pep Guardiola spoke about Lisandro Martínez, calling him a top five center back in the world.

Guardiola and Manchester City lost 2-1 in the FA Cup final against Manchester United in a match which saw Lisandro Martínez at his best. He was able to close down Erling Haaland and City’s attack while he was on the pitch.

Hernán Crespo has won the AFC Champions League with Al Ain.

Crespo has now won an AFC Champions League as a coach. After losing the first leg 2-1 against Yokohama FM, the team from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates won 5-1, to lift the Champions League trophy 6-3 on aggregate.

The Argentine has now won a trophy with four different teams. To go with his 2023-2024 AFC Champions League trophy, Crespo also won three trophies with Al-Duhail in Qatar.

With Al-Duhail, he won the 2022-2023 Qatar Stars League, the 2022-2023 Qatari Stars Cup and the 2023 Qatar Cup. With Sao Paulo, he won the 2021 Campeonato Paulista and with DEfensa y Justicia he won the 2020 Copa Sudamericana.

Alejandro Garnacho scored in the FA Cup final and started the match with Lisandro Martínez for Manchester United in their 2-1 win vs. Manchester City.

Garnacho started and scored in the FA Cup final for Manchester United. It was a piece of misscommunication in the Manchester City back line and Garnacho kept running towards goal and the ball fell to the Argentine who scored to give United the 1-0 lead.

The Argentine how now scored and won both the Youth FA Cup and the FA Cup with Manchester United. Lisandro Martínez also started and shut down Erling Haaland and City’s attack.

Julián Álvarez was substituted into the match for Manchester City and missed an opportunity in front of goal to score City’s first goal of the match.

All three players are included in the provisional Argentina national team for the Copa America.
