Ángel Di María will renew his contract with Benfica until 2025.

According to Argentine journalist Gastón Edul, Di María had intentions of returning to his beloved Rosario Central after the 2024 Copa América. Nonetheless, due to death threats in Rosario to him and his family in recent months, he prioritized his family’s safety and decided to continue his career with the Portuguese team.

Benfica’s president, Rui Costa, confirmed the news:

“Di María stays at Benfica. It’s already announced. He will remain at Benfica, just like last year when he came after the World Cup to sign a contract. The same has happened now. Di María is a Benfica player.”

Luka Romero will be joining Alavés on loan with an option to buy.

Roemro is going to play one more season in Spain. According to César Luis Merlo, Romero will be playing in La Liga with Alavés and the club will have an option to buy him from AC Milan for $7 million.

The 19 year old is currently signed to AC Milan and spent half of last season on loan with UD Almería where he scored three goals in 13 league matches.

Fernández could be leaving Boca Juniors. According to César Luis Merlo, the Saudi club have improved their offer to Boca for Equi and are now offering $17,500,000 for the player but it would be in separate payments.

The value exceeds his exit clause of $15 million. The 22 year old already has a five year agreement with the club.

Lo Celso is going to stay in the Premier League but will have a new club. According to Fernando Czyz, Lo Celso will play with Aston Villa.

He will join Emiliano Martínez, Emiliano Buendía and Enzo Barrenechea at the club and rejoin Unai Emery, his former coach at Villarreal.
