Messi has now scored in six of Inter Miami’s seven league matches in which he has played in this season, having scored in every match except their opening game. Against New England Revolution, it was New England who took an early 1-0 lead with less than one minute into the match.
With New England leading 1-0, Robert Taylor would play a pass into Lionel Messi and he would score from inside the penalty area to draw Inter Miami level. Much of the crowd in New England would celebrate Messi’s goal.

He would also get an assist for Inter Miami’s last goal of the match, a pass to Luis Suárez and the Uruguayan would score from inside the penalty area. With his two goals and assist, Messi also became the first player in MLS history to have multiple goal contributions in five consecutive matches.
The Argentine has 11 goals and six assists in 10 matches with Inter Miami this season and has 22 goals all time for the club, seven behind Gonzalo Higuaín’s club record of 22 goals.
