Pep Guardiola spoke about Lisandro Martínez, calling him a top five center back in the world.

Guardiola and Manchester City lost 2-1 in the FA Cup final against Manchester United in a match which saw Lisandro Martínez at his best. He was able to close down Erling Haaland and City’s attack while he was on the pitch.

After the FA Cup final, Pep Guardiola spoke to the media about Lisandro Martínez. Here is what he had to say:

“He made the difference on this game by playing passes through our defence”.

Hernán Crespo has won the AFC Champions League with Al Ain.

Crespo has now won an AFC Champions League as a coach. After losing the first leg 2-1 against Yokohama FM, the team from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates won 5-1, to lift the Champions League trophy 6-3 on aggregate.

The Argentine has now won a trophy with four different teams. To go with his 2023-2024 AFC Champions League trophy, Crespo also won three trophies with Al-Duhail in Qatar.

With Al-Duhail, he won the 2022-2023 Qatar Stars League, the 2022-2023 Qatari Stars Cup and the 2023 Qatar Cup. With Sao Paulo, he won the 2021 Campeonato Paulista and with DEfensa y Justicia he won the 2020 Copa Sudamericana.

Congratulations to Crespo on winning the AFC Champions League.

Alejandro Garnacho scored in the FA Cup final and started the match with Lisandro Martínez for Manchester United in their 2-1 win vs. Manchester City.

Garnacho started and scored in the FA Cup final for Manchester United. It was a piece of misscommunication in the Manchester City back line and Garnacho kept running towards goal and the ball fell to the Argentine who scored to give United the 1-0 lead.

The Argentine how now scored and won both the Youth FA Cup and the FA Cup with Manchester United. Lisandro Martínez also started and shut down Erling Haaland and City’s attack.

Julián Álvarez was substituted into the match for Manchester City and missed an opportunity in front of goal to score City’s first goal of the match.

All three players are included in the provisional Argentina national team for the Copa America.

Enzo Fernández has stated that he wants to go to the Olympics with Argentina.

Fernández arrived in Argentina and had the media surrounding him at the airport. When asked about the Olympic games, here is what he had to say:

“I spoke to Mascherano and told him I want to go to the Olympic games.”

The Argentine is 23 years old and would not occupy a space as an overage player in the team. Argentina Olympic coach Javier Mascherano will have to cut his preliminary list of 35 players for the Olympics down to 18 players.

Argentina team to train at Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium before Copa America

The Argentina national team will train at Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium before the Copa America.

Argentina will play two matches in June prior to the Copa America and with both matches in the United States, Argentina will be based in Miami. According to Gastón Edul, they will be training at Lionel Messi’s club home, Chase Stadium.

Lionel Scaloni’s team will begin training on June 3 for their two matches. The first match will be against Ecuador on June 9 at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois and they will play a second match on June 14 against Guatemala at Commanders Field in Washington, DC.

Scaloni has already announced the team for the two matches and the provisional team for the 2024 Copa America in the United States.
