Lionel Messi has now scored a goal every year for the last 20 years.

Messi has reached a new milestone. The World Cup winner has now scored a goal every year since 2005, spanning three different clubs.

In 2005, Lionel Messi scored his first goal for FC Barcelona and it was against Albacete. In 2006 it was against Athletic Club.

The year 2007 saw him score his first goal against Real Madrid and in 2008, it was in the Champions League against Celtic. In 2009, it was back in La Liga and against Atletico Madrid.

In 2010 it was against Tenerife and in 2011 against Deportivo de La Coruña. In 2012 it was Osasuna and in 2013 against Espanyol. The year 2015, his first goal was against Elche and in 2016, once more it was Espanyol.

The year 2017, was the same team as 2006, against Athletic Club. In 2018 it was Levante, in 2019 Getafe and in 2020 it was Atletico Madrid.

In 2021, he would score his final goal of a new year with FC Barcelona and it was against Athletic Club. In 2022, for the first time with Paris Saint-Germain, Messi scored his first goal of the year against Lille and in 2023 against Angers.

During Inter Miami’s 1-1 draw against LA Galaxy, Messi scored his first goal of 2024 to make it 20 consecutive years with a goal.

Lionel Messi scored for Inter Miami in their 1-1 draw vs. LA Galaxy.

Messi got his first goal of the 2024 season with Inter Miami in dramatic fashion. With LA Galaxy leading 1-0 in injury time, it was a partnership we had seen before.

After an initial run by Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba received the ball out wide and passed it in to Messi inside the penalty area who scored to darw Inter Miami level.

Inter Miami start off the season with one win and one draw, with Lionel Messi having one goal and one assist in two matches.

Ángel Di María scored for Benfica in their 4-0 win vs. Portimonense.

Di María made it eight goals and seven assists in 20 league matches for Benfica. With Benfica leading 2-0, it was an outside of the foot pass into to Di Maria and the Argentine would score from close range to give Benfica the 3-0 lead.

The World Cup winner has 14 goals and eight assists this season.

Lautaro Martínez reached 101 goals with Inter, scoring twice in their 4-0 win vs. Lecce.

Martínez scored goal 100 and 101 for Inter in the same match. With the score at 0-0, it was a through ball to Lautaro and he would score while onto the pitch to give Inter the 1-0 lead.

The Argentine would score his second goal of the match, a low pass into the penalty area and he would score from close range to make it 3-0 for Inter. Lautaro now has three goals in his last two matches.

He has 22 goals and four assists in 23 league matches.

Alexis Mac Allister wins Carabao Cup with Liverpool

Alexis Mac Allister’s Liverpool defeated Mauricio Pochettino and Enzo Fernandez’s Chelsea 1-0 in extra time of the Carabao Cup final.

The former Brighton player won his first title with the Reds and reached his 6th career title.

Mac Allister played 86 minutes and received an 8.0 Sofascore rating, while Enzo Fernández played the whole 120 minutes and received a 7.5 Sofascore rating.
